Lim has 20 years of experience in corporate finance, private equity investment and property development having worked and lived in seven cities – Melbourne, Sydney, London, Hong Kong, Beijing, Bangkok and Los Angeles where he was in charge of a number of property-related corporate investment, as well as the construction and development of commercial, infrastructure and residential properties.

He has 10 years of experience as a specialist lawyer in corporate finance and structured investment having worked at a global top 5 law firm in London.

Lim was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, a solicitor and barrister of the Supreme Court of Victoria, a solicitor of the Federal Court of Australia, and as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of Hong Kong. Lim is also an associate of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants.

Lim acted for and advised several financial institutions such as Barclays Investment Bank (London), Credit Agricole (Paris), GIC Sovereign Wealth Fund (Singapore), Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (Frankfurt), Merrill Lynch/Bank of America (New York), SBC Warburg/UBS (London) and Sumitomo Mitsui Bank (Tokyo) where he worked on over USD$2.6 billion of investment transactions.

He also advised the Asia-Pacific Economic Corporation (APEC) on the regulatory framework regarding the accession of China into the World Trade Organization (WTO), where he was involved in many rounds of discussions with officials from the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China.

Lim sat on the board of directors of Malahon Securities Group (Hong Kong), a securities firm that is a founding member of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. As an independent director, he was tasked with oversight over legal and regulatory affairs, including compliance with regulations set by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong.

In Malaysia, he is appointed as an executive director and corporate lawyer for two public-listed companies.

Lim holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
